OpenAI released a brand new model called GPT-5.5 Instant and made it the new default for all ChatGPT users. It replaces the older GPT-5.3 and is faster, smarter, and makes fewer mistakes — especially on sensitive topics like health, law, and money.
GPT-5.5 Instant scores significantly higher on reasoning and math tests than its predecessor. One of its biggest new tricks: it can now look back at your past conversations, files you've shared, and even your Gmail (if connected) to give you more personalised answers. OpenAI says this model also reduces "hallucinations" — those confidently wrong answers AI sometimes gives — especially in medical and legal topics. The update is rolling out to Plus and Pro users first, with Free users getting it very soon.
If you use the free version of ChatGPT, this upgrade costs you nothing. For students preparing for NEET, UPSC, or engineering exams across Karnataka, a smarter, more accurate model means fewer misleading answers when you're studying late at night. For small business owners using ChatGPT to write content or reply to customers, this means more reliable, personal responses. Simply open ChatGPT — the upgrade is already there.
